Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia Elibert RN, BSN.
Felicia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a Registered Nurse and have been since 1996. I specialized in Med Surg, Telemetry, and ER. In 2005, while working as a travel nurse, I bumped into an old friend who looked amazing. She had lost weight and just looked healthy. I asked her what she had been doing and she told me colonics. I had no idea what they were but I knew I wanted to sign up for it. Shortly after receiving a series of colon hydrotherapy sessions, I felt amazing. I lost a few pounds, my skin cleared up, and I had more energy than I had in years. I thought to myself “why isn’t everyone doing these?” I actually felt like a brand new person. The facility that I was going to wasn’t the nicest facility in the world but because the results were wonderful and they were very busy. The therapist actually had a portion of her basement in her home set up for colonics. During this time of my career, I was working 90-100 hrs per week. The money as a traveling nurse was very good but I was exhausted. During that same year, I decided that becoming a Colon Hydrotherapist was something I wanted to do and that’s just what I did. I went back to school to get my certification and shortly opened Cleansing Waters Wellness center in May 0f 2005. Since then, I have opened 2 more locations. Although we still specialize in Colon Hydrotherapy we now offer other services that complement and embody total health and wellness.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Throughout the years there has definitely been challenges. I think since growing up I have always had an interest in taking care of myself. My mother taught me the importance of taking care of me. Eating healthy, gym memberships, regular facials, and massages, etc. I never had a problem with doing things that made me feel good both inside and out. One challenge that remains the same from 15 years ago is the obstacle of self-worth. So many of us pour out into everyone else but US. We take care of our children, husbands, careers, friends, etc but put ourselves and our health and wellness last. It’s been challenging to get people especially women to take the time out and focus on you.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Cleansing Waters Wellness & Weighloss Centers story. Tell us more about the business.
Celebrating 15 years of Wellness.
Although we continue to specialize in colon hydrotherapy, we also have a full medical weight loss program, Vitamin IV Hydration Treatments, Infrared Sauna Wraps, Ionic Foot Detox, Facials, massages.
